Wist je dat …
Je brein na het ontwaken gemiddeld zo'n 30 minuten nodig heeft om volledig op te starten? Dit verschijnsel heet slaapinertie en kenmerkt zich door slaperigheid, desoriëntatie en verminderde motorische vaardigheden. Onderzoek wijst uit dat abrupt wakker worden uit fase 3, de zogeheten slow-wave sleep, voor sterkere slaapinertie zorgt dan wakker worden uit slaapfase 1, 2 of REM-slaap. Herkenbaar, toch?

Statera x Equi Volleybaltoernooi
Op vrijdag 8 mei organiseren we samen met Statera een volleybaltoernooi in Sporthal Selwerd in Groningen, en jij bent van harte welkom! Of je nu een doorgewinterde volleyballer bent of gewoon zin hebt in een gezellige, sportieve avond: iedereen is welkom op het veld.
Naast een gezonde dosis competitie zijn er ook prijzen te winnen en is er uiteraard volop ruimte voor gezelligheid. Wees er op tijd bij: om 18:15 zijn we aanwezig en om 18:30 gaan we van start. Je vindt ons op Eikenlaan 288, 9741 EW Groningen. Deelname kost maar €4,50.

EHBO-cursus verplaatst naar 3 juni, nu samen met Tapp!
Je hebt eerder gehoord over de EHBO-cursus die Equilibrium organiseert met het Rode Kruis. We hebben een update: de cursus is verplaatst naar 3 juni. Zelfde locatie op Atoomweg 2B in Groningen, aanvang 18:00 uur en een deelnameprijs van €36,25. Wat nieuw is: we organiseren dit nu samen met studievereniging Tapp, wat het geheel alleen maar leuker maakt!
Tijdens de cursus leer je de basisprincipes van eerste hulp, begeleid door trainers van het Rode Kruis. Handig om te weten en misschien ooit van levensbelang. Let op: aanmelden kan tot uiterlijk 26 mei en het aantal plekken is beperkt, dus wacht niet te lang.

Gezocht! Begeleiders introductiekamp september 2026.
Lieve leden,
Ook al lijkt het nog ver weg, wij als introductiecommissie zijn hard bezig met het introductiekamp van 2026! Zo zijn wij op zoek naar begeleiders voor de eerstejaars op het kamp.
Lijkt het jou leuk om van 2 t/m 4 september begeleider te zijn van de eerstejaars en ze een hele toffe introperiode te geven? Meld je dan nu aan!
Als begeleider kun je voor de eerstejaars een grote rol spelen in hoe veilig, leuk en leerzaam het kamp voor ze is. Voor de eerstejaars is dit hun eerste indruk van de opleiding en vooral de studievereniging. Als begeleider ben je verantwoordelijk, sociaal, respectvol en vooral erg enthousiast over de nieuwe lichting die komt!
Naast het kamp zijn er twee “knip en plak” dagen waarbij we dingen gaan knutselen voor het thema van kamp, waarbij we ook samen een leuke activiteit gaan doen. Belangrijke informatie volgt wanneer je je opgeeft. Deze zijn op 9 juli en 31 augustus, zet het alvast in je agenda!

Hackathon Hydrogen Safety | GroenvermogenNL Young
GroenvermogenNL Young organiseert een hackathon rondom veiligheid in de waterstofketen, en we deelden deze kans graag met jullie. Op woensdag 7 mei, van 8:30 tot 19:00, werk je bij het Brandweer Training Center in Rotterdam Maasvlakte samen met andere studenten aan een echte casus uit de waterstofwereld. Gedurende de dag begeleiden experts uit de industrie jou en je team, en aan het einde pitch je jouw oplossingen aan een jury. De dag wordt gezellig afgesloten met een borrel en de kans om bij te praten met andere deelnemers en professionals. Deelname is gratis.

Did you know …
That your brain needs around 30 minutes to fully boot up after waking? This is called sleep inertia, and it shows up as grogginess, disorientation, and reduced motor skills. Research shows that waking abruptly from stage 3 sleep, known as slow-wave sleep, causes stronger sleep inertia than waking from stages 1, 2, or REM sleep. Sound familiar, right?

On Friday, May 8th, we're joining forces with Statera for a volleyball tournament at Sporthal Selwerd in Groningen, and you're more than welcome to join! Whether you're a seasoned player or just looking for a fun and sporty evening, everyone is welcome on the court.
Expect some healthy competition, great prizes, and plenty of good times. Make sure you're there on time: doors open at 18:15 and play starts at 18:30. You can find us at Eikenlaan 288, 9741 EW Groningen. Entry is just €4.50.

First Aid Course moved to June 3rd, now together with Tapp!
You may have already heard about the first aid course Equilibrium is organising with the Red Cross. We have an update: the course has been moved to June 3rd. The location at Atoomweg 2B in Groningen stays the same, as does the start time of 6:00 PM and the participation fee of €36.25. What is new is that we are now organising this together with study association Tapp, which makes it even better!
During the course, Red Cross trainers will guide you through the basics of first aid. Useful to know and possibly a lifesaver one day. Please note that registration closes on May 26th and spots are limited, so make sure to sign up on time.

Wanted! Supervisors for the September 2026 introduction camp.
Dear members,
Even though it seems far away, we as the introduction committee are working hard on the 2026 introduction camp! For instance, we are looking for supervisors for the first-year students at the camp.
Would you like to be a supervisor for the first-year students from September 2nd to 4th and give them a really cool intro period? Then sign up now!
As a supervisor, you can play a major role in ensuring the camp is safe, fun, and educational for the first-year students. For the first-year students, this is their first impression of the study program and especially the student association. As a supervisor, you are responsible, social, respectful, and above all, very enthusiastic about the new cohort coming up!
In addition to the camp, there are two “cut and paste” days where we will be crafting things for the camp theme, and where we will also do a fun activity together. Important information will follow once you sign up. These are on July 9th and August 31st, so mark them in your calendar!

Hackathon Hydrogen Safety | GroenvermogenNL Young
GroenvermogenNL Young is organising a hackathon focused on safety in the hydrogen value chain, and we wanted to make sure you don't miss out. On Wednesday 7 May, from 8:30 to 19:00, you'll join fellow students at the Brandweer Training Center in Rotterdam Maasvlakte to tackle a real case from the hydrogen industry. Experts will be there throughout the day to coach you and your team, and at the end you'll pitch your ideas to a jury before rounding things off with drinks and good conversation. Participation is completely free.
